"The Canaanite movement" was a radical political movement from the 1940's that called for the founding of a Hebrew nation state, separate from the Jewish religion and identity. Even though they ultimately failed, the movement caused a sensation and until this day is subject to debate within Israeli society. 3 generations after it was founded, the director, who was raised from early childhood as a "Canaanite" by her devout Canaanite parents, traces the footsteps of the movement's ideologue and founder, AG Horon, the director's grandfather, in the aim to uncover his motives and to figure out whether is ideology has any relevance to today's post October 7th reality.
