Biography

Adi Shinar (b. 1984) grew up in Israel, in the Tel Aviv area. With an architect father and art historian mother, Adi was constantly exposed to arts and culture and focused mainly on painting. After her military service she moved to Jerusalem to study philosophy at the Hebrew University. After being urged by everyone to study something practical Adi chose to start the graduate program in film at the Tel Aviv University. “Noam” is Adi’s thesis film. While still in editing, Adi was accepted to a prestigious filmmaking workshop held in the “Arava”, Israel’s desert strip on the Jordanian border and from 150 initial applicants and 18 semi-finalists Adi’s script for a short film was selected for a full production grant. Adi is currently developing the script for her debut feature film.
